\n\tAs Rian Johnson<\/a> attempts to shop a new version of Poker Face<\/a>, he agrees the idea for his howcatchem series\u2019 third season is out of the box.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring Monday\u2019s premiere of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery<\/a>, the 2x Oscar-nominated writer and director told Deadline he \u201cwould be so excited\u201d to pull off a new iteration of the show with Peter Dinklage<\/a> as amateur sleuth Charlie Cale, after we reported that Natasha Lyonne<\/a> had exited the role<\/a> and Peacock<\/a> opted not to renew the original series for a third season.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLook, it\u2019s very early days. We\u2019re gonna see if we can take it out and get it going,\u201d said Johnson on the red carpet at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. \u201cBut I love Peter, I\u2019ve always wanted to work with him. And I would be so excited if we can get this version of it up and going. It\u2019s a wild swing, and I just feel like it could be so much fun, going forward with the show.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a joint statement from Johnson and Lyonne, who also serves as an executive producer on the show, they noted they\u2019ve \u201cbeen germinating this next move<\/a> together since writing the season two finale,\u201d adding that it\u2019s \u201cthe perfect way to keep it rolling.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJohnson\u2019s long-term hope is for the show to continue to evolve with a new actor every couple of seasons in the role of Charlie, former casino employer and human lie-detector who is forced to go on the run after witnessing a casino boss commit a crime. Traveling the country in her 1969 Plymouth Barracuda, Charlie puts her superpower to use solving homicides everywhere she stops, while staying on the lam.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
