New photos have been released from Christopher Nolan\u2019s \u201cThe Odyssey,\u201d the shots providing first official looks at Robert Pattinson, Zendaya and John Leguizamo in the film.<\/p>\n

The big surprise is Pattinson. It had long been speculated that \u201cThe Batman\u201d star would be playing the role of Hermes, the messenger of the Gods, which gave the hint of a very colourful performance from Pattinson.<\/p>\n

Instead, it has been revealed that he\u2019ll be playing Antinous \u2013 one of the two main suitors, the other being Eurymachus, vying for Odysseus\u2019 wife Penelope (Anne Hathaway) among a group of many men.<\/p>\n

Vincenzo Nicoli previously played the role in the 1997 mini-series version of \u201cThe Odyssey\u201d alongside Eric Roberts as Eurymachus. Funnily enough, both Nicoli and Roberts sat beside each other in the \u2018Joker meets the crime bosses\u2019 scene in Nolan\u2019s \u201cThe Dark Knight\u201d in 2008.<\/p>\n

The other photos show Zendaya on set as the Greek goddess Athena alongside Matt Damon as Odysseus. A third photo shows John Leguizamo as Eumaeus, Odysseus\u2019s old friend and swineherd who plays a crucial part in the last act.<\/p>\n

Empire Online<\/a> has been revealing the first look photos and shared a story from Matt Damon who indicates Tom Holland used his clout at Sony to arrange a screening of a pristine 70mm print of \u201cLawrence of Arabia\u201d for the cast of \u2018The Odyssey\u2019 during the one major soundstage scene the film required in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

First look photos are out of Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway and Mia Goth arrived the other day. \u201cThe Odyssey\u201d opens in cinemas on July 17th 2026.<\/p>\n
