The xx<\/a> have released a deluxe version of their self-titled debut album featuring five bonus tracks. Stream it below.<\/p>\n

The expanded edition of xx includes new tracks \u201cInsects\u201d and \u201cBlood Red Moon,\u201d plus covers of Womack & Womack\u2019s \u201cTeardrops,\u201d Kyla\u2019s \u201cDo You Mind,\u201d and Aaliyah\u2019s \u201cHot Like Fire.\u201d A special deluxe vinyl version of the LP is set to drop on December 5th and is available for pre-order<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a statement shared on Instagram<\/a>, the band reflected on how much the album meant to them. \u201cGoing back to 2009 has brought up so many memories \u2014 it really does feel like another world,\u201d they wrote. \u201cThis album means a lot to us, and we hope it still means something to you, too. Thank you for being here, always.\u201d<\/p>\n

The xx\u2019s debut album was released to critical acclaim when it dropped in 2009, featuring singles \u201cCrystalised,\u201d \u201cIslands,\u201d and \u201cVCR.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to releasing the deluxe LP, The xx have been working on new music for their fans. In 2024, Romy confirmed<\/a> that the trio was working on their fourth album, describing the trio\u2019s sessions as feeling \u201cquite wide open\u201d at the moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Oliver [Sim] and Jamie [xx] and I have all tried new things and learned a lot from different projects, and I think that\u2019s quite healthy to be like, \u2018What have you learned? What should we do now?\u2019\u201d she told NME<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As to what the album will sound like, Romy didn\u2019t specify. In the same interview, she admitted that it\u2019s still \u201cwide open.\u201d Though it was early on in the recording process, she felt confident that \u201cyou\u2019ll still be able to tell it\u2019s us.\u201d<\/p>\n

The xx will have plenty of opportunities to debut new music next year during their confirmed festival appearances at Coachella<\/a>, Primavera<\/a>, and Kilby Block Party<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
