Kostas Tsimikas<\/a> is expected to return to Liverpool after his season-long loan at AS Roma, with the Italian club claimed to be unimpressed after \u201ctoo many mistakes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tsimikas joined Roma on loan after it became clear he was third-choice left-back under Arne Slot<\/a>, who brought in Milos Kerkez<\/a> over the summer.<\/p>\n

While the jury is out over Liverpool\u2019s new long-term solution to the position, with Slot reverting to Andy Robertson<\/a> in recent games, the club may still welcome Tsimikas back in the summer.<\/p>\n

That comes with Roma reportedly not convinced by the Greek, with head coach Gian Piero Gasperini already turning to other options.<\/p>\n

Why Roma aren\u2019t expected to keep Kostas Tsimikas<\/p>\n

Football Italia<\/a> explains that there have been \u201ctoo many mistakes\u201d and \u201csome anonymous performances\u201d which have seen Gasperini shift right-back Wesley to the left following long-term illness for Angelino.<\/p>\n

Tsimikas had been considered competition for Angelino as Roma\u2019s left wing-back, but instead he has started only three of eight games in his absence and been subbed off in each of those.<\/p>\n

He has started only one of the last five games in Serie A and that saw him brought off at half-time in a 1-0 win over Sassuolo.<\/p>\n

\"LIVERPOOL,<\/p>\n

It is claimed that Roma have \u201cabsolutely no regrets\u201d over a straight loan deal for Tsimikas, instead of agreeing a obligation-to-buy clause with Liverpool.<\/p>\n

Tuttomercatoweb<\/a>\u2018s Andrea Losapio writes that \u201chis continued tenure seems unlikely unless there\u2019s a clear turnaround in the coming weeks,\u201d though it is unlikely that the loan will be terminated in January.<\/p>\n

Roma are already targeting another left-back in Pisa\u2019s Samuele Angori, who is expected to move in the summer rather than mid-season.<\/p>\n

Where Tsimikas would stand if he returns to Liverpool<\/p>\n

If Tsimikas were to rejoin Liverpool in the summer he could do so at a pivotal juncture, with Robertson yet to agree an extension to his contract.<\/p>\n

The vice-captain\u2019s deal will be up at the end of the campaign and he spoke candidly<\/a> earlier this month over the possibility of leaving after nine years.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhatever happens will happen behind closed doors, I\u2019m relaxed about the whole situation,\u201d Robertson told reporters after the 3-0 loss to Man City<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf it is my last year, then it\u2019s my last year. If it\u2019s not, then so be it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a bit of a stressful summer in terms of decisions. I\u2019ve said to myself, \u2018just try and enjoy the next few months\u2019 and then, obviously it will start probably taking over my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

If Robertson were to leave, for whatever reason, Liverpool could look to Tsimikas \u2013 who will have 12 months left as of the summer \u2013 as experienced cover for Kerkez.<\/p>\n
