{"id":274200,"date":"2025-11-20T20:10:06","date_gmt":"2025-11-20T20:10:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/274200\/"},"modified":"2025-11-20T20:10:06","modified_gmt":"2025-11-20T20:10:06","slug":"england-centre-retires-with-immediate-effect-aged-32","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/274200\/","title":{"rendered":"England centre retires with immediate effect aged 32"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former Gallagher Premiership winner Sam Hill has hung up his boots at 32.<\/p>\n<p>The centre spent a decade at Exeter Chiefs, leaving Sandy Park for Sale Sharks after Exeter\u2019s 2020 double of the Gallagher Premiership and Investec Champions Cup.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/channel\/AbYd2l05pp1bM_Ix\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Join RUCK\u2019s Instagram broadcast channel <\/a>and get the latest rugby news straight to your phone.<\/p>\n<p>Hill was an England squad regular under Stuart Lancaster and Eddie Jones, but never won a full cap\u2014his highest honours came with England A.<\/p>\n<p>After three seasons at Sale, he had stints with Blackheath and in the U.S. with Major League Rugby side Houston SaberCats.<\/p>\n<p>Following two seasons in America, Hill has decided to bring down the curtain on his professional rugby career.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo after dragging it out for the last few years, it\u2019s probably about time I call it a day. I\u2019ve absolutely loved the past 15 years of playing professional rugby, it was literally my dream and the only thing I ever wanted to do growing up,\u201d Hill wrote on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s allowed me to travel all over the world, create lifetime friends and see some unimaginable sights on team socials.
