Former Arsenal<\/a> striker Chido Obi has been backed to replace injured Manchester United<\/a> star Benjamin Sesko<\/a> by Dwight Yorke<\/a>.<\/p>\n Obi played in Arsenal\u2019s Hale End academy but was snapped up by the Red Devils in September 2024 as he swapped the Emirates<\/a> for Old Trafford<\/a>.<\/p>\n The 17-year-old, an international for Denmark U21s, has played eight games for United to date and is still waiting to score for the first team.<\/p>\n But former United forward Yorke is convinced that Obi has what it takes tobe starting games under Ruben Amorim<\/a> following Sesko\u2019s recent injury.<\/p>\n It was reported on Monday that Sesko will miss around a month with the knee issue he picked up against Tottenham<\/a> before the international break.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tYour ultimate guide to the football season\t\t\t<\/p>\n Metro’s football newsletter: In The Mixer. Exclusive analysis, FPL tips and transfer talk sent straight to your inbox every Friday \u2013 sign up<\/a>, it’s an open goal.<\/p>\n \u2018I think Amorim has got to invest in the young players and bring some fresh talent through to give a little bit of a chance if Sesko is out injured,\u2019 Yorke told Snabbare<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u2018If you\u2019re gonna bring in a makeshift option as cover, we\u2019ve seen United do that in the past and it hasn\u2019t worked.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018It\u2019s just too big of a club for bringing in a player that\u2019s not the right fit to improve the team.<\/p>\n \u2018I\u2019d understand if they were flying on all cylinders to get someone else in there but when things are not going so great, it\u2019s a difficult fit.<\/p>\n \u2018If United are going to go and sign someone else, I think they have to go out there like Liverpool and bring in someone who would have a really big presence at the football club.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018Otherwise, the [development side is] there for a reason. What about Chido Obi? <\/p>\n \u2018I know the first team squads are big but you\u2019ve got to get these young players around the team for when situations like this happen.<\/p>\n \u2018When I was at United, the youngsters could train with us and then we\u2019d let them play to get game time and train with us more. <\/p>\n \u2018It\u2019s so that when they come, they are already up to speed. That\u2019s something I would look at.<\/p>\n \u2018I would like to see Chido Obi put in if Sesko is out.
