Richmond artist Lucy Pittaway has unveiled her latest collection, one which marks a significant evolution in her style and subject matter.\n<\/p>\n

The artist is best-known for her na\u00efve and imaginative style, memorably applied to landscapes, nature, garden and animals.\n<\/p>\n

Her new works is entitled The Ladies Collection.\n<\/p>\n

The collection of six new figurative paintings have been inspired by memories of sketching women in gowns at her mum\u2019s dress shop.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/p>\n

Each piece captures women in elegant dresses, brought to life with use of colour, movement and storytelling. Each piece bears a feminine name \u2013 Grace, Rose, Serenity, Liberty, Joy and Passion.\n<\/p>\n

Lucy said: \u201cThe idea began years ago when\u00a0I\u00a0spent time in\u00a0my\u00a0mum\u2019s wedding dress and flower shop, modelling gowns and sketching women in sweeping dresses whenever\u00a0I\u00a0could. Those early drawings stayed with\u00a0me, even as life and\u00a0my\u00a0art moved in other directions.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cRecently, seeing\u00a0my own\u00a0daughter and friends\u2019 daughters in long evening dresses for end-of-school celebrations brought those memories back. It felt like the right moment to explore that side of\u00a0my\u00a0creativity again.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cThis series of\u00a0paintings\u00a0captures women caught in a moment, with all the emotion that brings. It marks a new chapter\u00a0for me, one that still carries\u00a0my\u00a0love of colour, movement and storytelling, but with a fresh focus on the female form.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

Yorkshire-based Lucy has seven galleries across the North-East, North Yorkshire and the Lake District, as well as a destination outlet store.\n<\/p>\n
