Stirling is where Russell grew up, attended Wallace High School and first emerged as a rugby talent with Stirling County before climbing to the very top of the game.<\/p>\n<p>The university hailed Russell as an athlete who has \u201cinspired a generation\u201d through his creativity, resilience and impact on Scottish rugby.<\/p>\n<p>His fianc\u00e9e, Scottish heptathlete\u00a0Emma Canning, marked the moment with a heartfelt Instagram tribute, writing:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou deserve every bit of recognition &amp; more for not just your sporting achievements, but the person you are \u2728 Another day being proud of you. \u2764\ufe0f P.S. the doctor\u2019s wife has a nice ring to it \ud83d\ude06\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A Career of Flair, Grit and Global Recognition<\/p>\n<p>Finn Alastair Russell, born 23 September 1992 in Bridge of Allan, is one of the most influential No.10s of the modern era. Known for his audacious skillset, tactical vision and effortless creativity, Russell has built a reputation as rugby\u2019s great entertainer.<\/p>\n<p>After leaving school, he famously worked as a\u00a0stonemason for three years\u00a0before earning his professional break with\u00a0Glasgow Warriors\u00a0in 2012.
