Cofidis<\/a> has lost Jes\u00fas Herrada and now Stefano Oldani<\/a> heads to Caja Rural – Seguros RGA<\/a>. Two of the French team’s Grand Tour stage winners are leaving towards Spanish second-division teams and will provide direct competition in 2026.<\/p>\n

Oldani will wear green after completing six seasons at the highest level, divided equally between Lotto Soudal, Alpecin-Deceuninck and Cofidis. A valuable background in which stands out his victory in Genoa, in the 12 stage of the 2022 Giro d’Italia, where the Italian rider took advantage of his ability in winding circuits and his remarkable speed to overcome his compatriot Lorenzo Rota, successfully resolving a numerous breakaway.<\/p>\n

Oldani is a puncheur and a breakaway specialist, a trait he has shown in the last six editions of the Giro d’Italia, completing all but the 2024 edition. This year he stood out with a fifth place in Nova Gorica and a sixth in Vlor\u00eb – two days where he was able to show his sprinting quality.<\/p>\n

Beyond the corsa rosa, Oldani has also exhibited consistency and versatility in one-week races and classics of different profiles, scoring numerous top 10s and podiums in the Vuelta a Castilla y Le\u00f3n, Tour of Limburg, Coppa Bernocchi and overall in the Tour de l’Ain. In 2025 he was seventh in the Eschborn-Frankfurt World Tour classic and eighth at the end of the season in the Coppa Agostoni.<\/p>\n

Stefano Oldani: “I chose Caja Rural-Seguros RGA because from the first moment I perceived a special energy, an environment that values the human aspect even more than the sporting one. I noticed confidence, the desire to build together and the real feeling of being able to return to the level I have already shown in the past. I needed a place where I could feel part of something, and here I found exactly that”.<\/p>\n

“For next season I want to recover my usual level: to be a constant, reliable rider and able to finish when it matters. I’m very motivated and hungry to show everything I have in me. I want to give continuity to my work and put my solidity at the service of the team, returning the confidence with effort and results,” he concluded.<\/p>\n

Oldani is the Spanish team’s sixth signing alongside Kern Pharma’s Jos\u00e9 Felix Parra and four riders from their development program: Ellande Larronde, Iker Villar, Gorka Corres and Pablo Lospitao. It is expected that soon the team will announce the signing of Movistar’s Fernando Gaviria as a new leader<\/a>.\"Stefano<\/p>\n
