The new Black and Whites recruit is the one and only addition to Hull’s spine in 2026 and is set to partner Aidan Sezer in the halves, with Pryce coming into the side at full-back.

And Arthur is already excited about his combination with Pryce, whom he ironically replaced at NRL side Newcastle Knights when the full-back joined Hull back in April.

Swapping Manly Sea Eagles for Newcastle, Arthur was a mid-season recruit at the Knights but now finds himself together with Pryce at Hull.

“It’s funny how things work out, but he’s a talent,” Arthur told Hull Live when asked about Pryce. “He’s got so much speed and he’s good on the ball, which is exciting.

“The challenge for myself and Aidan now is to unlock space for him and give him as much time as we can to attack. The more times we can do that and get our big players into dangerous positions, the better we will be as a team.

“I’ve also heard a lot of things about Lewis (Martin) and Harvey (Barron) – and some of the other quality here. There’s a lot to work with and a lot of talent on the edges. I’ve watched a fair bit of Super League and I’m excited to get going.”

Given a collective responsibility, Arthur is keen to get to grips with Hull’s whole spine, with John Asiata and James Bell set to interchange at loose-forward and Amir Bourouh and Cade Cust doing the same at hooker.

Rounding off week three of pre-season training, Arthur is determined to get the combinations rocking and ensure Hull are a crisp attacking side in 2026.

“I’m looking forward to linking up with Aidan, John, and Prycey and to trying to play a really good brand of footy,” he continued. “We want to be a good attacking side who defend well. But what we do on the ball is important. We’ve got to find time and space through our shapes and attack.

“That’s one of my strengths; I can help the players around me and create space for them. The more I can do that and bring out their natural talent, the better.”

Arthur is also hoping to be a pressure reliever for Sezer next season and take some responsibility away from the skipper. He explained: “Aidan was the main ball player last season and he got a lot of pressure put on him, especially on last tackle kicks.

“I watched some of the games and the defenders were coming from everywhere to go after him. I think I can help take a bit of pressure off him there with my own kicking game and give the team another option.

“I’m keen to play with him and again unlock Prycey’s speed. Together we can create a lot of space for him, which is exciting. I just can’t wait to get going.”

There’s one player Jake Arthur is keen to get to grips with next year.
