Comedian Peter Kay was forced to momentarily halt his Liverpool show on Friday night after a technical issue disrupted the opening moments of his performance. The 52-year-old, from Bolton<\/a>, took to the stage at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool at 8pm for the first of two back-to-back shows as part of his record-breaking Better Late Than Never tour.<\/p>\n

However, just a few moments into the performance, the Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddy star, found himself unable to continue as a camera used to film the audience cut out unexpectedly, the Liverpool Echo reports<\/a>. The fault left him with no option but to improvise while technicians attempted to fix the issue.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s going on here? We can\u2019t stop, everyone\u2019s already come in!\u201d he joked to thousands of fans. \u201cWhat shall I do? Shall I just fill? It\u2019s warm in here isn\u2019t it? It\u2019s nice, that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The comedian sat down and continued to talk with the audience as he adlibbed his way through the unplanned break. Despite the shaky start, fans welcomed his trademark humour and quick-witted response, with the show soon getting back on track.<\/p>\n

The comedian\u2019s ongoing tour, which began in 2022, has been one of the most successful in British comedy history. He has shattered attendance records at Manchester\u2019s AO Arena and became the first artist in the world to hold a monthly residency at London\u2019s O2 Arena, performing 45 shows, the highest number by any artist at the venue.<\/p>\n
