Warner Bros. Animation released the trailer for Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires during <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulture.com\/tags\/sdcc-2025\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">San Diego Comic-Con 2025<\/a>, and it\u2019s taking Batman to new places. Specifically, the court of King Moctezuma II. The titular Aztec Batman is Yohualli Coatl, whose father is murdered by Hern\u00e1n Cort\u00e9s. Which makes real life historical monster Hern\u00e1n Cort\u00e9s this universe\u2019s Joe Chill. (And also Two-Face, after he\u2019s scarred by Aztec Catwoman).  Yohualli Coatl dedicates his life to becoming the ultimate warrior and vowing to take down Cort\u00e9s and the invading Spanish army. Here\u2019s hoping for an Inglorious Basterds-style alternate history ending.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmdmd7bqf001g3b78flx4n6dz@published\" data-word-count=\"56\">Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires is a collaboration between Warner Bros. Animation and Mexican animation studio \u00c1nima. Besides the aforementioned Aztec Batman, Catwoman, and Two-Face, we see Mesoamerican versions of Alfred, Poison Ivy, and the Joker.
