{"id":278866,"date":"2025-11-23T11:55:07","date_gmt":"2025-11-23T11:55:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/278866\/"},"modified":"2025-11-23T11:55:07","modified_gmt":"2025-11-23T11:55:07","slug":"ex-heavyweight-champion-lucas-browne-46-suffers-brutal-first-round-ko-to-mike-tyson-of-bare-knuckle-boxing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/278866\/","title":{"rendered":"Ex-heavyweight champion Lucas Browne, 46, suffers brutal first round KO to Mike Tyson of bare-knuckle boxing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lucas Browne was blown away in the opening stanza of his bare-knuckle boxing world title fight, live on talkSPORT.<\/p>\n<p>The former WBA &#8216;regular&#8217; heavyweight champion got off to a winning start in his new venture two months ago with a second-round stoppage win over Corey Harrison.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Gustavo Trujillo celebrates with the BKB heavyweight title \" height=\"640\" width=\"960\" data-credit=\"BKB \" data-img=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Gustavo-Trujillo-4.jpg\" data-caption=\"Trujillo remains BKB heavyweight champion with another first-round KO\"   loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Gustavo-Trujillo-4.jpg\" role=\"img\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>1<\/p>\n<p>Trujillo remains BKB heavyweight champion with another first-round KOCredit: BKB <\/p>\n<p>However, he <a href=\"https:\/\/talksport.com\/boxing\/3685029\/lucas-browne-bkb-world-title-gustavo-trujillo\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">proved no match for BKB heavyweight champion Gustavo Trujillo<\/a>, who dropped Browne twice en route to the eventual 106-second stoppage.<\/p>\n<p>In victory, the heavy-handed Cuban moves to 8-0, with all eight of his triumphs coming inside the very first round.<\/p>\n<p>The impressive feat has led to him being <a href=\"https:\/\/talksport.com\/boxing\/3749603\/mike-tyson-bare-knuckle-boxing-gustavo-trujillo-lucas-browne\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">branded &#8216;the Mike Tyson of bare-knuckle boxing&#8217;.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>And while Trujillo has been making quick work of his opponents, he admits that he never plans to end proceedings early. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I go into my fights just trying to win,&#8221; he told talkSPORT.com before his bout with Browne in Miami.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t know if this will end in the first round or not.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is something that comes naturally; it is never planned.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I just want to win by any means necessary. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Whatever happens is in God&#8217;s hands; he is the one who has given me this gift.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The story of the fight<\/p>\n<p>Browne, now 46 years old, looked a step behind Trujillo from the opening bell.<\/p>\n<p>The Aussie fought composed behind the jab, but he was caught on unsteady legs by the first clean right hand Trujillo landed.<\/p>\n<p>Stumbling backwards into the ropes, Browne was forced to take a knee as his adversary rained down heavy blows.<\/p>\n<p>The 38-fight (31-7) gloved boxing veteran made his way back to his feet and came forward with reckless abandon in search of a shot to turn the tide.<\/p>\n<p>Browne&#8217;s trusty right hand has scored him multiple come-from-behind victories over the years.<\/p>\n<p>None more famous than his <a href=\"https:\/\/talksport.com\/boxing\/3528784\/lucas-browne-dillian-whyte-bare-knuckle-boxing\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">last-gasp knockout of Ruslan Chagaev for the WBA &#8216;regular&#8217; belt.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>However, it wasn&#8217;t to be this time.
