Fabrizio Romano has provided a crucial update on Arne Slot\u2019s position as Liverpool head coach following the club\u2019s disastrous 3-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest.<\/p>\n

The reigning Premier League champions have endured a nightmare defence of their title, currently languishing in 11th place after 12 matches. <\/p>\n

The mood at Anfield turned toxic on Saturday as Sean Dyche\u2019s Forest side dismantled the Reds, marking Liverpool\u2019s sixth league defeat of the campaign.<\/p>\n

With speculation mounting over a potential sacking, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has clarified the stance of FSG regarding Slot\u2019s immediate future.<\/p>\n

Despite the growing unrest among the fanbase, Romano revealed that Liverpool\u2019s owners are not planning to pull the trigger \u201cimminently.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cSo Liverpool are really poor in this moment in the Premier League. Really, really, really bad game against Nottingham Forest. <\/p>\n

\u201cLet me start telling what happens with Arne Slot? Guys, at the moment I don\u2019t have any sort of information on Liverpool owners deciding to take a decision imminently. So I mean now, today, tomorrow. So Liverpool are not thinking about changing the manager now. <\/p>\n

\u201cObviously they (owners) want to see a different kind of results, different kind of performances. They expect much more by Arne Slot and by this team. <\/p>\n

\u201cSo for sure Liverpool want to see something different from the manager and from the players because this is not only Arne Slot. The players also have to take responsibility as Van Dijk said<\/a>. <\/p>\n

However, Romano warned that this patience is not infinite. He continued: \u201cSlot knows that the situation is dangerous. It\u2019s complicated now but at the same time Arne Slot can feel the backing and the support from the club. <\/p>\n

\u201cSo Liverpool are not in talks with any other manager considering the possibility to fire the coach. That\u2019s the situation as of today. <\/p>\n

\u201cOf course results have to change immediately. So already in the Champions League, in the Premier League, especially in the Premier League because in Premier League, Liverpool are in a really complicated situation. So that\u2019s the feeling as of today.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statistics behind Liverpool\u2019s 2025\/26 campaign make for grim reading. After storming to the title in his debut season, Slot\u2019s second year has unraveled at frightening speed. <\/p>\n

The Reds have now lost six of their opening 12 Premier League games, a run of form that leaves them statistically enduring one of the worst title defences in Premier League history.<\/p>\n

The 3-0 drubbing by Nottingham Forest was a new nadir, with goals from Murillo, Nicol\u00f2 Savona, and Morgan Gibbs-White condemning Liverpool to their heaviest home defeat of the season. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

To put this decline into context, Liverpool only lost four league games during the entire 2024\/25 title-winning campaign. They have already exceeded that total before December.<\/p>\n

While FSG are not holding emergency talks today, reports suggest that the upcoming festive period will be decisive. <\/p>\n

With the busy December schedule approaching, Slot effectively has one month to save his job. <\/p>\n

The daunting run of fixtures leading into the New Year serves as an unofficial deadline for the Dutchman<\/a> to arrest the slide. <\/p>\n
