I\u2019ve been told not only is the SnyderVerse in play for a full return<\/a>, but there have also been discussions about a Marvel vs. DC project involving the Russo Brothers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey threw around ideas to do a DC\u2013Marvel film,\u201d said our source, who previously filled us in on the Daredevil: Born Again retooling news<\/a>, the real ending of The Flash<\/a>, and more.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll admit this one is a long shot, but the timing lines up. Here\u2019s how.<\/p>\n

Russos back at Marvel<\/p>\n

The Russos are officially back at Marvel, directing Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. Rumors say they\u2019ll stay with Marvel after Secret Wars to guide the MCU\u2019s direction. At the same time, we are told that Zack Snyder is returning for the SnyderVerse, backed by the Saudis, who want a Snyder-level event to rival Marvel\u2019s big Avengers movies<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no question both franchises were stronger when they were competing. The MCU was at its best with the Russos, and Snyder\u2019s DCEU was far more successful than anything DC released after Justice League \u2014 which Snyder had no involvement in.<\/p>\n

Also, recall how the Russo Brothers interviewed Zack Snyder. They love the guy.<\/p>\n

Gunn\u2019s DC Future Looks Finished<\/p>\n

I\u2019m still told James Gunn is out once the WBD sale goes through<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The NY Post reports Skydance\/Paramount is the frontrunner<\/a>, in part because of Donald Trump\u2019s relationship with CNN\u2019s new direction, and that alone tells you everything about Gunn\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

I was told directly: if Skydance Paramount buys WBD, Gunn will be forced out (if he doesn\u2019t resign first). Variety already confirmed Paramount is going MAGA<\/a>. How does Gunn\u2019s divisive DCU fit into that, when he\u2019s had characters claiming \u201cNazis love Jesus\u201d and equating our real world with a Nazi world<\/a>? It doesn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s also lost the international audience<\/a>, and there is no doubt why Warner Bros. Pictures dated the Minecraft sequel only two weeks after Gunn\u2019s Man of Tomorrow in 2027.<\/p>\n

Snyder knows<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Snyder posted that Superman\/Henry Cavill tribute image on Veterans Day. Snyder knows exactly what\u2019s happening.<\/p>\n

\u201cSnyder has been purposeful. He posted a Superman tribute with the American flag on Veterans Day, which signals he aligns with certain values \u2014 and Gunn didn\u2019t, which is surprising for the face of DC,\u201d our source said.<\/p>\n

Marvel vs DC<\/p>\n

If the SnyderVerse returns, Zack will be able to finish his Justice League storyline. I\u2019m told DC will likely undergo another reboot afterward, \u201cpresumably\u201d under Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy, whose WB contracts were just renewed. Gunn\u2019s contract has not been renewed.<\/p>\n

Even with talk of a reboot, it sounds like Marvel vs. DC still isn\u2019t dead. It has been floated before, and even Gunn has mentioned the idea.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know if they\u2019d still be interested after all this. These movies are emotionally draining,\u201d one source said.<\/p>\n

If interest keeps growing and the studios want a guaranteed hit, a Marvel vs DC crossover becomes a real option. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s now up to the people in the room \u2014 and the fans watching all of it play out. A Marvel vs DC crossover isn\u2019t confirmed, but it\u2019s still a topic of discussion behind the scenes.
