People’s drinking habits are changing, with more and more opting to enjoy a low or no alchohol beverage instead of going the whole hog. Now, a pub<\/a> in Dublin<\/a> is attempting to capitalise on the trend by offering what they see as the best of both. The Palmerstown House Pub is serving the \u201c60\/40\u201d, which is comprised of 60% of Guinness’s sober version, the 0.0, and 40% of its regular 4.2% stout. On Instagram<\/a>, the venue wrote: \u201cTry our new ’60\/40′ in the Palmerstown House. All of the Guinness<\/a> character, just a little lighter!<\/p>\n

“Great for when you’re in the mood for a pint but with a little less alcohol! Just ask for a ’60\/40′.” A clip suggests that the 0.0 is poured first, before the regular version. The beverage has received a mixed reception. One person commented: “Sorry I don\u2019t do cocktails.” Someone else wrote: “Nah il just have four decent pints instead of 10 pints of p***.”<\/p>\n

A different account asked: “What\u2019s the point? You either drink or drive!<\/p>\n

“Who wants weak alcohol content when they are drinking?”<\/p>\n

Another drinker simply said: “Should be illegal.”<\/p>\n

But another commenter said: “People crying about people wanting to drink a bit less alcohol or maybe have a couple and still be able to drive.<\/p>\n

“Nobody is forcing it on you.<\/p>\n

“Drink what you like, just relax and let others drink what they want to.”<\/p>\n

A different person wrote: “I\u2019ve asked for this in a few pubs and been looked at like I was a mentalist!<\/p>\n

“Great to see you making it an actual thing.”<\/p>\n

Another person wrote: “I\u2019ve been saying this is a way forward for ages.<\/p>\n

“50\/50 seems like a better mix though\u2026just an easier equation – it\u2019s a pint at 2.25%.<\/p>\n

“Even better\u00a0@Guinness<\/a>\u00a0– make one for the pump!”<\/p>\n

A couple of people mentioned that it reminded them of Guinness Mid Strength, which was discontinued.<\/p>\n
