{"id":280221,"date":"2025-11-24T07:24:08","date_gmt":"2025-11-24T07:24:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/280221\/"},"modified":"2025-11-24T07:24:08","modified_gmt":"2025-11-24T07:24:08","slug":"bbc-sports-personality-of-the-year-to-be-held-on-18-december","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/280221\/","title":{"rendered":"BBC Sports Personality of the Year to be held on 18 December"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The 2025 BBC Sports Personality of the Year show will be held at MediaCityUK in Salford on Thursday, 18 December.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Gabby Logan, Alex Scott and Clare Balding will present the show live on BBC One, the BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app from 19:00 GMT.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It will celebrate an incredible 12 months of sporting drama and triumph &#8211; from England&#8217;s victories at the Women&#8217;s Euros and Women&#8217;s Rugby World Cup, to Team Europe winning the Ryder Cup, Liverpool&#8217;s Premier League title, Arsenal&#8217;s Women&#8217;s Champions League success, and the British and Irish Lions&#8217; series win in Australia.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Seven awards will be handed out including the prestigious main prize, which was won last year by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/articles\/c4gldyp77e0o\" class=\"ssrcss-k8mrr8-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Olympic 800m champion Keely Hodgkinson.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">That will again be decided by a public vote, as will &#8211; for the first time &#8211; the Team of the Year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Alex Kay-Jelski, Director of BBC Sport, said: &#8220;This year has once again been packed full of amazing sporting moments and stories.
