Sawyer Sweeten was certainly missed at the Everybody Loves Raymond<\/a>: 30th Anniversary Reunion.<\/p>\n

Sweeten, who played one of Raymond’s twin sons, was 19 when he died by suicide in 2015. He was mourned alongside last cast members Doris Roberts<\/a> and Peter Boyle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

His real-life and onscreen siblings, Madylin (who played Ally) and Sullivan (who played Michael), were on hand to reminisce about their time on the beloved CBS sitcom alongside stars Ray Romano<\/a> (Ray), Patricia Heaton<\/a> (Ray’s wife Debra), and Brad Garrett<\/a> (Ray’s brother Robert), as well as creator Phil Rosenthal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“So Sawyer, of course, is no longer with us, and we miss him,” Romano told the Sweeten siblings. “He just, like you are, was just this bright energy, light.”<\/p>\n

“None of us really expected what happened,” Sullivan said of his brother’s death. “But I try to think about the good moments and often times that’s here on the set.”<\/p>\n

When Raymond was on the air, for nine seasons between 1996 and 2005, Sawyer and Sullivan were in their first decade. Their sister Madylin, who’s four years older, was just beginning her teenage years when the show ended.<\/p>\n

“I just think it’s so important in any conversation that we’re having about Sawyer,” she began. “We’re very passionate in our family about suicide prevention. It is the second leading cause of death between the ages of 18 to 25. But 90 percent of people who seek treatment are cured.”<\/p>\n

Madylin and Sullivan work with the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline<\/a>\u00a0in honor of Sawyer. They create T-shirts in Sawyer’s memory annually and donate the proceeds to the cause.<\/p>\n

“And,” said Madylin, who just had her first baby this year, “so many of the messages that we get are people saying, ‘I’m so grateful to have heard about your brother. He saved my life.'”<\/p>\n

At the time of Sawyer’s death, he was memorialized by his TV mom.<\/p>\n

“Sawyer Sweeten was a funny and exceptionally bright young man,” Heaton wrote on social media. “He is gone from us far too soon The entire cast of #EverybodyLovesRaymond is in shock. Prayers for the Sweeten family.”<\/p>\n

There were sweet stories shared at the reunion, too.<\/p>\n

“I’ve got plenty of good memories,” Sullivan said. “Playing in the bleachers and the prop room. But I think I’m a sucker for a happy ending, and the final scene with everybody gathered around the table has got to be my favorite memory.”<\/p>\n

The series concluded on May 16, 2005, having won 15 Emmys.<\/p>\n

The Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion airs Monday, Nov. 24 at 8 p.m. ET\/PT on CBS, and will be available to stream on demand on Paramount+ starting on Tuesday, Nov. 25.<\/p>\n
