In 2024, the government said 89% of soft drinks sold in the UK did not meet the sugar tax threshold.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Currently, milk-based drinks are exempt, if they contain at least 75ml of milk per 100ml.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Last year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/soft-drinks-industry-levy-review\/hmt-hmrc-soft-drinks-industry-levy-review\" class=\"ssrcss-f6h2dj-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the government announced a review, external<\/a> to look at whether the milk exemption should remain.
