Celtic hero Matt O\u2019Riley appears to be the subject of further transfer speculation just over a year after making his Parkhead exit.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Riley left Celtic for Brighton<\/a> for a club-record \u00a326m fee as the young Dane made his big move to the English Premier League.<\/p>\n

Injury blighted O\u2019Riley\u2019s<\/a> start to his Brighton career when he was crocked in his first start for the club in the Carabao Cup back in August 2024.<\/p>\n

The Brighton midfielder has thrived in Ligue 1 and now, it looks like O\u2019Riley is being eyed for a permanent move to the French top flight.<\/p>\n

Sky Sports are reporting that Marseille want to make O\u2019Riley\u2019s temporary move to France a permanent one.<\/p>\n

After just 14 appearances, including four in the Champions League where O\u2019Riley impressed against Real Madrid<\/a>, boss Roberto De Zerbi now wants the former Celtic star as part of his permanent squad.<\/p>\n

Celtic hold a 10% sell-on clause<\/a> on O\u2019Riley meaning that if Brighton recoup their \u00a326m paid, the Bhoys would receive \u00a32.6m.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s understood, via the Daily Record<\/a>, that the sell-on clause is not profit dependent.<\/p>\n

Simply put, O\u2019Riley has been one of Marseille\u2019s best players this season. The ex-Celtic man has been in great form scoring one goal and creating two assists.<\/p>\n
