The Expectations Index\u2014based on consumers\u2019 short-term <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fxstreet.com\/rates-charts\/forecast\" data-fxs-autoanchor=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">outlook<\/a> for income, business, and labor market conditions\u2014fell by 8.6 points to 63.2.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Dana M Peterson, Chief Economist at The Conference Board, \u201cConsumer confidence tumbled in November to its second lowest level since April after moving sideways for several months.\u201d She added that \u201cAll five components of the overall index flagged or remained weak. The Present Situation Index dipped as consumers were less sanguine about current business and labor market conditions. The labor market differential\u2014the share of consumers who say jobs are \u201cplentiful\u201d minus the share saying \u201chard to get\u201d\u2014dipped again in November after a brief respite in October from its year-to-date decline. All three components of the Expectations Index deteriorated in November.
