Machine Head<\/a> fans out in Europe, they\u2019ll be getting that when Robb Flynn and company cross the Atlantic for \u2018An Evening With\u2019-styled tour this coming spring. For the uninitiated, that means you\u2019ll get three hours of uninterrupted Machine Head and zero openers.<\/p>\nThis isn\u2019t the first time Machine Head\u2019s offered this kind of experience, so you probably already know if three hours of Machine Head is exactly what you want. Flynn explained his thought process in bringing that style of concert back:<\/p>\n
\u201cHead Cases, I\u2019ve been thinking a lot about what makes a Machine Head show\u2026 a Machine f**kin\u2019 Head show. People talk about the riffs, the circle pits, the sweat, the beers, the chaos \u2014 and yeah, all of that is part of who we are,\u201d wrote Machine Head frontman Robb Flynn.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt always has been. But there\u2019s something else. Something I didn\u2019t fully understand until years into doing this. It\u2019s the singing. The way you take our songs\u2026 songs we wrote in a cold Oakland rehearsal room, in dark places, in moments of pain, struggle, or heartbreak \u2014 and you turn them into something bigger. Something yours.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve stood on stages all over the world, guitar hanging off my shoulder, lights blinding my eyes, sweat dripping down my face\u2026 and then I hear it: You. All of you. Singing louder than the PA. Singing like the song belongs to you \u2014 and it does. That feeling\u2026 I can\u2019t compare it to anything else in my life.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere was a show a while back \u2014 honestly, I can\u2019t even remember what city it was \u2014 but during \u2018Darkness Within\u2019, the crowd came in so strong on that first line I actually stepped back from the mic.
