Just one wicket down and with a lead of 105 in the second innings – England were in the box seat to win the first Test of the Ashes in Perth.<\/p>\n

However – what came next was a disastrous collapse – with a slew of poor shot selections seeing the visitors lose their next nine wickets for just 99 runs.<\/p>\n

As a result – Australia required 205 runs in the fourth and final innings to take a 1-0 lead in the series.<\/p>\n

Although the hosts struggled in their first innings with a measly score of 132 – you can’t afford to give a champion side like Australia an opening.<\/p>\n

That was proven in their second innings – as big-game player Travis Head produced one of the greatest performances with the bat in Ashes history.<\/p>\n

Following England’s capitulation and Head’s heroics across the final two innings – the odds have changed considerably when looking at the betting lines.<\/p>\n

Australia have shortened to huge odds-on favourites at 1\/4 with Sky Bet to claim their fourth straight series win on home soil<\/a>.<\/p>\n
