I\u2019m opposite the metro station where the two National Guard troops were shot. <\/p>\n

There\u2019s police tape holding us on the sidewalk as a large number of news crews gather. Glass from a bus stop is shattered onto the pavement. <\/p>\n

The intersection is full of police cars, armed security personnel and national guard troops. This is just a block and a half from the White House. <\/p>\n

I’ve spoken to several eyewitnesses. One said he heard two gunshots, followed by a further three. People began to run in panic, some trying to take shelter in a liquor store. <\/p>\n

Another eyewitness who was in his car close to the metro station also heard the gunshots ring out. He got out and filmed the aftermath. <\/p>\n

I\u2019ve seen his footage which shows two National Guardsman down on the sidewalk in their uniforms, being treated by medics. <\/p>\n

A third person, apparently civilian, was also on the sidewalk being treated.
