Starlink\u2019s cheapest plan, Residential 100Mbps, is now available in Australia and Canada.<\/p>\n

The new tier has popped up for at least a few existing Starlink<\/a> subscribers in those countries, according<\/a> to posts<\/a> on Facebook, usually when people try changing<\/a> their service plans.<\/p>\n

We also spotted Starlink.com offering the Residential 100Mbps plan to new sign-ups based in certain parts of Australia. In addition, the Starlink domain for Canada<\/a> was updated to add Residential 100Mbps as a service plan option.<\/p>\n

The Residential 100Mbps plan is significantly cheaper than the Residential Lite and Residential plans, giving customers a way to save money on the satellite internet service. In the US, the plan costs<\/a> $40 per month, a huge discount from the $120-per-month Residential plan.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In Canada, SpaceX is pricing Residential 100Mbps at<\/a> $70 CAD per month ($49.60), down from the $110 CAD for Residential Lite and $140 CAD for Residential.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in Australia, Residential 100Mbps costs $69 AUD ($44.79), a decrease from $79 AUD for Residential Lite and $119 AUD for the Residential plan.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The trade-off is that the plan restricts the download rate to 100Mbps, a significant downgrade from the 250Mbps and up to 400Mbps+ speeds of Residential Lite and Residential. It\u2019s why SpaceX says the Residential 100Mbps plan is \u201cbest suited for 2\u20133 person households with everyday internet needs,\u201d rather than large households or power users.\u00a0The 100Mbps tier also features unlimited monthly data and no cap on upload rates.<\/p>\n

For now, the Residential 100Mbps plan is only available in select areas, likely where the company has extra network capacity. Still, the cheaper plan looks poised to help the company attract even more users when Starlink already serves<\/a> over 8 million customers globally.<\/p>\n
