Prince William and Princess Kate have congratulated Robert Irwin and Witney Carson McAllister after the pair won Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

Irwin, son of groundbreaking wildlife expert Steve Irwin, took home the win 10 years after his sister Bindi also took victory in he dance competition. <\/p>\n

The Waleses have a close relationship with Irwin, who has played a major role in the prince\u2019s Earthshot Prize.<\/p>\n

The couple took the time to comment on Irwin\u2019s social media post, which he captioned: \u201cDreams do come true\u201d with a loveheart emoji. <\/p>\n

The Waleses’ social media account commented: \u201cCongratulations Robert and Witney!\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans were left stunned when, earlier in the competition, the prince made a surprise appearance.<\/p>\n

He connected via video link to offer encouragement to the 21-year-old. <\/p>\n

During the pre-recorded segment, William playfully addressed the young Australian competitor, referring to him as “twinkle toes” whilst expressing his support for Mr Irwin’s dancing journey.<\/p>\n

The prince’s surprise cameo occurred during a special episode celebrating the ABC programme’s two decades on air.<\/p>\n

“We’re missing you, Robert. Whilst your ‘twinkle toes’ are going off elsewhere, I need you down here,” William said during the video call.<\/p>\n

He also addressed Ms Carson, saying: “Witney, you need to get him in as much glitter as you can. You guys have got a seriously good chance of winning it.”<\/p>\n

Ms Carson appeared visibly moved by the royal interaction, exclaiming: “I can’t believe he just said my name.”<\/p>\n

Robert became an ambassador for William\u2019s Earthshot Prize in 2024. <\/p>\n

At the time, Irwin said: \u201cThe Earthshot Prize is a beacon of hope for all of us who care about the environment and about our ability to ensure a liveable future for ourselves and future generations.<\/p>\n

\u201cHealthy oceans, ecosystems and species equal a healthy planet, and the Earthshot Prize recognises the importance of investing in and helping grow solutions that protect these critical resources.\u201d<\/p>\n

The prince also surprised the listeners of BBC Radio 2 when Scott Mills told Irwin he had \u201cone more voicenote\u201d to play. <\/p>\n
