Fans who headed to see Jade Thirlwall’s BBC Proms show with the Royal Northern Sinfonia in Gateshead<\/a> got a shock as they were getting their drinks in the foyer of The Glasshouse. And it was all down to the fact that Geordie legend Jimmy Nail was in the building.<\/p>\n Having been one quarter of hugely successful girl group Little Mix, South Shields<\/a> singer Jade <\/a>has now cemented herself as a much buzzed about solo artist and one of the best things to happen to British pop music in years, with songs like Angel of My Dreams, F U F N and It Girl being lapped up by fans and critics alike. All of those tracks were on the setlist for what proved to be a fantastic night of live music in Jade’s native North East at the weekend, as the combination of her pop prowess and the exceptional music abilities of the RNS proved to be a real winner.<\/a><\/p>\n As well as performing all of the singles she’s released so far, also including recent hit Plastic Box, Jade did a few surprise covers, including a Clubland medley featuring N-Trance’s Set You Free and Ultrabeat’s Pretty Green Eyes and a very moving version of Sam Fender’s Remember My Name. <\/a>And Crocodile Shoes and Auf Wiedersehen Pet icon Jimmy was there to see them all, after causing a fair deal of excitement before Jade had even taken to the Glasshouse stage, when he was spotted in the concourse.<\/p>\n Given that he is rather tall, it didn’t take long for fans to clock him inside the venue, with a number of them quickly approaching him for a photo. And Jade herself was over the moon that Jimmy was there. Shouting him out in her Instagram post about the show, which is set to air on the BBC<\/a> later this year, she wrote: ‘how special to have so many friends and family there too, including my music teacher from school, Mrs Ratcliffe. Jimmy Nail in the audience too! Thank you to everyone who watched, listened or showed love.
