{"id":289943,"date":"2025-11-29T16:08:04","date_gmt":"2025-11-29T16:08:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/289943\/"},"modified":"2025-11-29T16:08:04","modified_gmt":"2025-11-29T16:08:04","slug":"hull-blind-date-contestant-dumbstruck-by-cilla-black","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/289943\/","title":{"rendered":"Hull Blind Date contestant &#8216;dumbstruck&#8217; by Cilla Black"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">In 1985, Cilla Black hosted a pilot episode of a shiny new show inspired by a concept from America known as The Dating Game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It went on to dominate Saturday-night TV, with millions of viewers tuning in to watch one person pick a date from three suitors hidden behind a screen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;You&#8217;ve got your gear, got your costume on, you&#8217;ve got the one -liners,&#8221; Mr Grantham said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Three questions were set by the potential date and the batchelors were given time to rehearse their answers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;I always used to write poetry and rap. I&#8217;m good with words so it kind of flowed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;When she said number two, I felt really good about myself,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The couple were whisked away on a four-day, all-inclusive holiday to the Caribbean island St Kitts, accompanied by a camera crew.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;It was fabulous. We got on brilliant. We had such a laugh.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;We were just getting spoiled.
