Huddersfield Giants owner Ken Davy<\/a> has made a bold Grand Final declaration and told those without a positive attitude to \u201cget the hell out of here\u201d in an impassioned and emotive speech at the club\u2019s season launch.<\/p>\n Davy has insisted that Huddersfield Giants \u201cwill win a Grand Final\u201d, claiming that there are \u201cno ifs, no buts\u201d surrounding that matter. Of course, he\u2019s admitted that it won\u2019t necessarily happen in 2026 but he was clear in both the delivery and content of his speech that the Giants are entering a new chapter.<\/p>\n In audio shared by the club on social media, Davy addressed fans at the Huddersfield Giants Supporters Association season launch, beginning by stating: \u201cI want to talk about transformation, transformation of the Huddersfield Giants.<\/p>\n \u201cI came up to the fans forum a few months back and said I was not happy. I wasn\u2019t happy, you were not happy and we needed to change and we needed to improve because we need to win something.\u201d<\/p>\n Huddersfield last lifted silverware in 2013 when they won the League Leaders Shield but they\u2019re without a championship or Challenge Cup win since the mid-20th century. Recent years have seen them miss the play-offs for three straight seasons, whilst also losing the 2023 Challenge Cup Final.<\/p>\n Huddersfield Giants \u201care going to win a Grand Final\u201d<\/p>\n Explaining what change is happening at Huddersfield, Davy confirmed that he, fans and others are the club are not satisfied and therefore need change with Ralph Rimmer, former RFL CEO, the man enacting that plan<\/a>.<\/p>\n Davy outlined: \u201cThe fact is we weren\u2019t satisfied and if we want to win a Grand Final, which we do, and we want to move to a smaller stadium, which we do, and if we want to play to sell-out crowds, then we must change.<\/p>\n \u201cA few months ago, we set about to start that process and to do that, we turned to Ralph Rimmer\u2026 He\u2019s the go to man for the government if there is a problem with sport, the go to man for rugby union if they\u2019ve got a problem, and the football league so we couldn\u2019t turn to a better man.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s been working away on a project for a number of months that started off about a new stadium but it\u2019s developed beyond that, which will come out in the coming months and years.\u201d<\/p>\n Having explained the context, Davy then proceeded to identify the club\u2019s goal as winning a Super League Grand Final, going even further to state that it\u2019s not just a goal but it is soemthing that will definitively happen.<\/p>\n Davy said: \u201cI want to talk about our goal, my goal, your goal, the club\u2019s goal and it is to win a Grand Final. No ifs, no buts, we are going to win a Grand Final.\u201d<\/p>\n Check out the latest episode of The Serious About Rugby League Show on our YouTube channel here<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cNo room in the Huddersfield Giants for negativity\u201d as owner sets out path for success<\/p>\n Speaking on the changes being brought about in 2026 to ensure that happens, the Giants\u2019 owner confirmed that all Huddersfield players, coaches, and others at the club will attend Old Trafford in 2026 to watch the Grand Final, if the club aren\u2019t playing, so as to get a feel for success.<\/p>\n \u201cEveryone in the club is going to the Grand Final as spectators, who knows we could be there, but we\u2019re going anyway to get that atmosphere and the feel of what it is like so we can carry on that journey to make sure that we get to the Grand Final.<\/p>\n \u201cThis goal will impact on every aspect of the club in the coming two or three years.<\/p>\n \u201cOur squad for this year is pretty well complete but further signings will come and they will be clear signs of what our ambition is.\u201d<\/p>\n Davy also outlined that there will be no tolerance of negativity at the club with all involved pulling in the same direction, a positive one.<\/p>\n He declared: \u201cThere is no room in the Huddersfield Giants anywhere for negativity\u2026 No ifs, no buts, it\u2019s a positive attitude. If you haven\u2019t got a positive attitude then get the hell out of here.\u201d<\/p>\n Taking inspiration from a John F. Kennedy speech and his ability to put a man on the moon, Davy argued that setting a goal such as winning the Grand Final leads to \u201cgoal orientation\u201d, with a positive attitude also helping the club towards their ultimate goal.<\/p>\n Davy concluded: \u201cThings start to happen because you\u2019re putting your subconscious mind to work to achieve that goal and things happen. It\u2019s a magic bug so we are going to use that positive attitude and goal orientation to create the magic that we need to ultimately win the Grand Final for the Huddersfield Giants.<\/p>\n \u201cJust like John F. Kennedy said, it won\u2019t be easy and like he said, we\u2019re not doing it because it\u2019s easy, we\u2019re doing it because it\u2019s difficult.
