{"id":29021,"date":"2025-07-28T15:59:17","date_gmt":"2025-07-28T15:59:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/29021\/"},"modified":"2025-07-28T15:59:17","modified_gmt":"2025-07-28T15:59:17","slug":"arable-market-report-28-july-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/29021\/","title":{"rendered":"Arable market report \u2013 28 July 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our\u00a0second <a href=\"https:\/\/ahdb.org.uk\/cereals-oilseeds\/gb-harvest-progress\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">harvest progress report<\/a> was released on Friday 25 July, capturing results up until the 23\u00a0of July.<\/p>\n<p>The UK oilseed rape harvest is 54% complete, lagging behind last year\u2019s pace, but average yields are strong at 3.76t\/ha, 21% above the five-year norm, with notable gains in Eastern and South Eastern regions.<\/p>\n<p>Quality is reportedly good, with oil content averaging 45%.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On the markets, Paris rapeseed futures (Nov-25) closed at \u20ac485.75\/t on Friday, up \u20ac1.25 (0.3%) on the week after dipping to \u20ac480.75\/t on Monday before recovering towards the end of the week.<\/p>\n<p>In contrast, US soyabean prices continued to face downward pressure over the past week amid weather concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Across the Midwest, traders feared intense heat could damage yields, but midweek showers helped ease crop stress. Chicago soybeans (Nov-25) closed 1.4% lower from Friday to Friday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ahdb.org.uk\/news\/us-soyabean-crop-in-focus-grain-market-daily#:~:text=The%20US%20soyabean%20crop%20is%20now%20entering%20its,yield%20potential%20is%20highly%20dependent%20on%20favourable%20weather.\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The US soyabean crop<\/a> was rated at 68% in good or excellent condition as at 20 July.<\/p>\n<p>This is down 2 percentage points on the previous week and in line with the same point last year but remains well above the 5-year average of 60%.<\/p>\n<p>Markets await outcome of US-China trade talks held in Stockholm on Monday 28 July.<\/p>\n<p>This will be a key watch point, with soyabeans on the agenda, as China is a key export destination for the US, accounting for 53% of the value of all soyabean exports 2020-2024 average (USDA).<\/p>\n<p>In Canada, canola futures have continued to trade between CAD$690\/t and CAD$700\/t struggling to break past this bound since early July.<\/p>\n<p>Canadian weather remains beneficial for crop development and support previously seen in the wider oilseed complex has also subsided.<\/p>\n<p>The EU reported soyabean and rapeseed imports were down 32% and 36% respectively on a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>According to European Commission projections for 2025\/26, imports of rapeseed are expected to fall to 5.8 Mt (-22.2%) amid stronger production domestically and little growth in demand.<\/p>\n<p>Soyabean imports are expected to remain firm at 14.2 Mt suggesting the pace of imports will pick up into 2025\/26 season, a watch point going forward.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday Russia, one of the worlds top producers and exporters of sunflower oil suspended floating duty rates on sunflower oil and meal until 31 August in aid to boost exports and help local producers.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"610\" height=\"148\" alt=\" Oilseeds futures 28 07 2025.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Oilseeds futures 28 07 2025.jpg\" copyright=\"\"\/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Our\u00a0second harvest progress report was released on Friday 25 July, capturing results up until the 23\u00a0of July.
