Queen Camilla was spotted wearing a long-forgotten piece of clothing belonging to King Charles as she attended the Biennial RIFLES Awards Dinner.<\/p>\n

The biennial event took place at London\u2019s Guildhall and Her Majesty was at the event in her capacity as the regiment\u2019s Colonel-in-Chief. <\/p>\n

Entering the event, she was spotted wearing a Yahya Couture robe that was given to Charles 27 years ago.<\/p>\n

The robe was given to the King during his 1998 visit to Saudi Arabia. <\/p>\n

The embroidered robe, known as a Daqlah, came in its traditional cut, as it opens at the front and extends to floor-length, with detailed silver threadwork creating a pattern across the front.<\/p>\n

The Dalqah, with its midnight blue colour, created a strong contrast to the red velvet gown from Fiona Clare.<\/p>\n

Ms Clare has become one of the Queen\u2019s go-to designers for her evening wear. <\/p>\n

Stylist Angela Kyte called the look a \u201cstandout example of how heritage pieces can be reinterpreted through a modern, fashion-forward lens.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe deep red velvet gown already carries a rich, wintery opulence, but it\u2019s the Daqlah that transforms the outfit into something truly meaningful.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis traditional Saudi robe, gifted to the then Prince of Wales in 1998, brings with it layers of cultural exchange and personal history.\u201d<\/p>\n

She gave a speech to the assembly, emphasising the importance of confronting tyrannical forces, calling the Ukrainian conflict as \u201cdevastating and brutal\u201d.<\/p>\n

“Only recently we marked the 80th anniversaries of both victory in Europe and victory over Japan,” she told the assembly.<\/p>\n

“Let us hope, as our antecedents did then, that our resolve to stand up to tyranny in this same region can again find a resolution to another devastating and brutal war.\u201d<\/p>\n

During her address, the Queen expressed gratitude to Major Ollie Plunket, her equerry, who has completed three years of service.<\/p>\n

“I would like to say a huge thank you to Major Ollie Plunket, who has been my staunch equerry for the past three years,” she said, praising his exceptional performance in the role.<\/p>\n

Major Rob Treasure from The Rifles will take over as the Queen’s next equerry.<\/p>\n

The Thursday evening event saw attendance from several senior royals serving as the regiment’s Royal Colonels, including the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Duchess of Edinburgh.<\/p>\n

The Queen assumed her role as Colonel-in-Chief of The Rifles in July 2020, taking over from the late Duke of Edinburgh.<\/p>\n
