Ariana Grande<\/a> is calling for her fans and others to think before they speak.<\/p>\n

Along with a clip from last year\u2019s Wicked press tour, Grande wrote on her Instagram Story: \u201cResharing this from last year as a loving reminder to all.\u201d The clip is from a 2024 interview with French reporter, Sally<\/a>, in which Grande is asked about the negative comments made about her body<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve heard it all. I\u2019ve heard every version of it \u2014 what\u2019s wrong with me, and then you fix it, and then it\u2019s wrong for different reasons,\u201d said a teary Grande, who has been in the public eye since she was a teen.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s hard to protect yourself from that noise,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think in today\u2019s society there\u2019s a comfortability that we shouldn\u2019t have, at all, commenting on others\u2019 looks, appearance\u2026 what they think is going on \u2018behind the scenes\u2019 or health or how they present themselves,\u201d she explained. <\/p>\n

\u2018I have work to do, I have a life to live, I have friends to love on, I have so much love, and it\u2019s not invited, so I don\u2019t leave space for it anymore,\u2019 said in the 2024 interview (Ariana Grande\/Instagram)<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s dangerous, for both parties involved.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grande also said she no longer invites the commentary<\/a>, stating firmly: \u201cIt\u2019s not welcome.\u201d <\/p>\n

Grande\u2019s reminder comes on the heels of the release of Wicked: For Good<\/a>, the follow-up to last year\u2019s Wicked: Part I, both of which she stars in as Glinda, opposite Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba<\/a>. Their slim appearances in the film have drawn criticism, prompting Grande to speak out.<\/p>\n

But this isn\u2019t the first time the \u201cSide to Side\u201d singer has been forced to address her appearance.<\/p>\n

In April 2023, the pop star took to TikTok<\/a> to address recent comments about her body in an intimate three-minute video that gave fans a candid glimpse into her struggles with health and well-being.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t do this often. I don\u2019t like it. I\u2019m not good at it,\u201d she started the video. \u201cBut I just wanted to address your concerns about my body, and talk a little bit about what it means to be a person with a body and to be seen and to be paid such close attention to.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are many different ways to look healthy and beautiful,\u201d she said in the video. \u201cAnd personally, for me, the body that you\u2019ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grande went on to explain that during the time people now consider her \u201chealthy,\u201d she was actually at her lowest point. <\/p>\n

\u201cI was on a lot of anti-depressants and drinking on them and eating poorly and at the lowest point of my life,\u201d she shared. \u201cBut that, in fact, wasn\u2019t my healthy.\u201d<\/p>\n

This wasn\u2019t the only time the \u201cGod is a woman\u201d singer<\/a> addressed body-shaming culture. Back in 2015, she responded to a comment comparing her appearance to that of another actress.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe live in a day and age where people make it IMPOSSIBLE for women, men, and anyone to embrace themselves exactly how they are,\u201d she wrote, urging fans to reject comparisons and focus on self-love.<\/p>\n
