{"id":290786,"date":"2025-11-30T03:27:10","date_gmt":"2025-11-30T03:27:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/290786\/"},"modified":"2025-11-30T03:27:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-30T03:27:10","slug":"deadpool-wolverine-budget-was-534-million","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/290786\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Deadpool &#038; Wolverine&#8221; Budget Was $534 Million"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/deadpool-wolverine-passes-1-billion.jpg\" data-caption=\"Marvel\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"464\" class=\"entry-thumb td-modal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/deadpool-wolverine-passes-1-billion.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"deadpool-wolverine-passes-1-billion\"\/><\/a>Marvel<\/p>\n<p>New tax filings in the UK have revealed that Disney and Marvel Studios spent more than half a billion dollars last year\u2019s \u201cDeadpool &amp; Wolverine\u201d film.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/carolinereid\/2025\/11\/27\/deadpool--wolverine-cost-half-a-billion-dollars-but-did-it-make-a-profit\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Forbes<\/a> reports that the film\u2019s \u201cfinal costs exceeded the production budget\u201d with financial statements through October 31st 2024 \u2013 three months after the film debuted \u2013 revealing that Disney had spent a staggering $533.7 million on the movie.<\/p>\n<p>That makes it one of the top ten most expensive films of all time.  Part of the reason for the expense was that the film was heavily disrupted by the actors\u2019 and writers\u2019 strikes in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The studio reportedly banked a total of $104.7 million in tax credits and reimbursement, which brought its net spending on the movie down to $429 million.<\/p>\n<p>The movie made $1.34 billion at the box office, with the studio\u2019s share expected to be somewhere around $670 million.  That\u2019s a box-office profit of $241 million, but that doesn\u2019t take into account the massive marketing spend for the film, which is estimated to be $100 million at a minimum.  It\u2019s likely closer to double that, as it was such an aggressive worldwide campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, the film was barely profitable at the box office despite its huge gross.
