\n\tJudi Dench<\/a> is opening up about her worsening eye condition and how she \u201ccan\u2019t recognize anybody now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Oscar winner previously shared that she was diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration. According to the Mayo Clinic<\/a>, the condition causes blurred vision or reduced central vision and is common among people over the age of 50.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen asked by ITV <\/a>why she doesn\u2019t appear onscreen much anymore, Dench replied, \u201cI can\u2019t see anymore. I\u2019ve got, you know, that thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen fellow actor Ian McKellen quipped that they could see her, the 90-year-old actress added, \u201cYes, and I can see your outline and I know you so well. But I can\u2019t recognize anybody now. \u2026 I can\u2019t see the television, I can\u2019t see to read.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMcKellen later joked, \u201cBut do you go up to total strangers and say, \u2018Lovely to see you again?’\u201d Dench laughed in response, admitting, \u201cSometimes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn 2012, the actress told the\u00a0Daily Mirror<\/a> that she was already struggling to read her own scripts and had to rely on help from friends and family following her diagnosis.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s usually my daughter or my agent or a friend and actually I like that, because I sit there and imagine the story in my mind,\u201d she said at the time. \u201cThe most distressing thing is in a restaurant in the evening, I can\u2019t see the person I\u2019m having dinner with.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDench, considered one of Britain\u2019s greatest actresses, is most known for her roles in the James Bond franchise and 1998\u2019s Shakespeare in Love, among dozens of other projects.<\/p>\n
