England’s Tammy Beaumont made 64 to set up Adelaide Strikers’ six-wicket win<\/a> over Brisbane Heat in the Women’s Big Bash League.<\/p>\n

Chasing 150, Beaumont, who hit eight fours and three sixes in her 40-ball innings, shared 99 for the first wicket with Laura Wolvaardt (49 off 45) before she was dismissed in the 13th over. <\/p>\n

Maddie Penna fell in the next over but Wolvaardt shared 32 with captain Tahlia McGrath to settle any nerves.<\/p>\n

South Africa skipper Wolvaardt and Bridget Patterson were dismissed but McGrath (24 not out) saw Strikers over the line with two balls to spare.<\/p>\n

They sit fifth, just outside the knockout spots on net run-rate, while Heat remain winless and are bottom of the table. <\/p>\n

Sunday’s other game saw Ellyse Perry strike an unbeaten 77 off 44 balls to give Sydney Sixers a six-wicket win<\/a> over city rivals Thunder. <\/p>\n

Chasing 175, Perry initially played second fiddle to England’s Sophia Dunkley, who made 44 off 35 balls in an opening stand of 58.<\/p>\n

It was the same in a partnership of 54 with Alyssa Healy (33 off 22) before Perry went through the gears.<\/p>\n

She hit 34 off 16 balls in a stand of 41 with Ash Gardner (three off eight) and then calmly got Sixers over the line with five balls left once Gardner and Maitlan Brown were dismissed. <\/p>\n

Thunder had earlier posted 174-6 with former England captain Heather Knight making 65 off 47 balls. <\/p>\n

Sixers sit third in the table and know two wins in their final three games will see them progress.
