The battle for Lisa Swain<\/a>\u2019s (Vicky Myers<\/a>) love reaches\u00a0breaking point in Coronation Street when Becky Swain\u2019s (Amy Cudden) scheming finally pushes Carla Connor<\/a> (Alison King<\/a>) back to the bottle.<\/p>\n

Coronation Street has seen its fair share of bonkers over the years, but Becky Swain is in a league of her own. <\/p>\n

Not content with faking her death to escape the wrath of Spanish gangsters, the devious ex-detective has made it her mission to split up our beloved #Swarla to win back her ex Lisa and daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin<\/a>) \u2013 and if she shatters Carla\u2019s heart in the process? All\u2019s fair in love and Weatherfield!<\/p>\n

So far, Becky\u2019s played a crafty game to manipulate Lisa\u2019s sympathies by making herself the victim and inveigling her way back into the home. <\/p>\n

Tired of Lisa\u2019s inability to see Becky\u2019s true colours, a heartbroken Carla called time on their relationship and moved out.<\/a> In spite of everything, Carla still loves Lisa and is determined to expose Becky for the plotting pound-shop Tracy Barlow she truly is.<\/p>\n

She might just have a chance thanks to Kit Green (Jacob Roberts<\/a>), the Cobbles\u2019 resident \u2018awesome police officer\u2019 (that\u2019s what his coffee<\/a> mug says anyway). Kit\u2019s been convinced that Becky has had something to do with the attack on corrupt cop Jeremy Costello (Daon Broni)<\/a> ever since he walked in on her threatening his daughter. <\/p>\n

Now he and Carla are coming dangerously close to the truth \u2013 that Costello\u2019s involvement in faking Becky\u2019s death is jeopardising her career. So when Costello tried to intimidate her into disappearing, Becky fought back and paid someone to put him in hospital. All they need is proof\u2026<\/p>\n

When Kit visits Costello in hospital,\u00a0he is intrigued to find out from his wife that he was going to retire to the Lake District<\/a> in September. He mentions this to Lisa and Becky, remarking that it\u2019s odd how Costello never mentioned his plans to trade in the Cobbles for the Lakes. Whilst Lisa agrees, Kit is keen to clock Becky\u2019s discomfort\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026 and reports straight back to Carla, sharing his theory that Costello and Becky are in cahoots. But the only answers Carla\u2019s seeking are at the bottom of a bottle. <\/p>\n

She pours herself a scotch, pointing out they have no proof of anything. Having struggled with alcoholism throughout traumatic periods of her life, Carla has truly hit rock bottom, leaving Kit deeply concerned.<\/p>\n

So the Cobbles Greatest Detective tells the worst person imaginable \u2013 Becky. <\/p>\n

He reveals that Carla\u2019s in the factory knocking back scotch and thinks Lisa should go check on her. Becky promises to pass on the message.<\/p>\n

Later, Carla pours herself another drink when Becky enters the office\u2026 and we\u2019re left fearing for Carla as the bad cop bunny-boiler closes the door behind her.\u00a0What will psycho Swain do now?<\/p>\n
