One thing to keep an eye on during the International League T20 is whether Chris Gayle’s long-standing record as the leading run-scorer in T20s is finally broken.<\/p>\n
The West Indies legend leads the way on 14,562 runs but West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard and England’s World Cup winner Alex Hales are closing in.<\/p>\n
Pollard is 325 runs behind in second (14,237 runs), while Hales is third on 14,200 runs, just 362 behind Gayle.<\/p>\n
Pollard will captain MI Emirates, while Hales will represent Abu Dhabi Knight Riders. <\/p>\n
There are 10 group games and up to three knockout matches for the pair to overtake Gayle. <\/p>\n
Hales scored 405 runs in last year’s tournament with Pollard managing 182. <\/p>\n
It’s not inconceivable that Gayle’s record is beaten before the end of the tournament. <\/p>\n
