Celtic have continued to perform better than Rangers financially over the past few years.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Celtic posted a new club-record revenue<\/a> in 2024-25 after their turnover increased from \u00a3124.6million in 2023-24 to \u00a3143.6m. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Celtic recorded a \u00a333.9m profit after tax<\/a> and went into the latest summer transfer window with \u00a377.3m of cash assets. <\/p>\n

Rangers also generated a record revenue<\/a>, with their turnover improving from \u00a388.3m to \u00a394.1m at Ibrox. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0Rangers<\/a>\u2019 losses dropped slightly from \u00a317.2m to \u00a314.8m last season and their cash balance increased from \u00a31.7m to \u00a330.5m across the same period.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Former Man City<\/a> financial adviser Stefan Borson<\/a> exclusively told Football Insider there is a \u00a3250m difference between what Celtic<\/a> and Rangers have earned over the past 10 years. <\/p>\n

Celtic banked around \u00a320m more than Rangers<\/a> in Europe last season, having reached the knock-out round play-offs of the Champions League. <\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively to\u00a0Football Insider about Rangers\u2019 latest accounts,\u00a0Borson\u00a0said:\u00a0\u201cSo much of the numbers and the difference between the two clubs comes down to what you\u2019re doing in Uefa competition.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cRangers in terms of the sort of headline wasn\u2019t a bad season. Turnover wise, it was up 7 per cent. Gate receipts were broadly in line. Broadcast was broadly in line, so they drove actually quite a substantial increase in commercial revenue. <\/p>\n

\u201cOn the face of it, it wasn\u2019t a terrible performance. Look, Rangers are clearly in a difficult position right now, and it\u2019s just going to take time for it to wash through.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Rangers\u2019 new owners injected \u00a320m<\/a>\u00a0after completing their takeover in May, providing the club\u2019s coffers with a significant boost.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Celtic are increasing the financial gap over Rangers<\/p>\n

Rangers made a \u00a3600,000 loss on player sales last season, while Celtic recorded a \u00a331.5m profit. <\/p>\n

\u201cRangers are not making anywhere near enough money on player sales,\u201d said Borson.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe club consistently loses money. Most clubs do. The gap is not good with Celtic. Now, whether that\u2019s about performance financially or player sales, the trend is awful. If you look at it on a profit basis, year on year the gap between Celtic and Rangers is getting more significant each year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOn a 10-year basis, there\u2019s a \u00a3250m difference. Over 10 years, Celtic have made the best part of \u00a3150m and Rangers have lost the best part of \u00a3115m, so there\u2019s this \u00a3250m difference. That obviously is a big issue because it compounds over time.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Celtic continue to pay their players higher wages, with their wage bill rising from \u00a365.6m to \u00a374.8m after claiming a fourth Scottish Premiership title in a row. <\/p>\n

Rangers, who finished second in the table, saw their wage bill fall from \u00a361.2m to \u00a357.8m last season. <\/p>\n
