According to Purchasing Power 2025, 50% of Portuguese people say they have lost purchasing power in the last year, a figure that exceeds the global average of 43%. Inflation is the main problem cited.<\/p>\n
The study also indicates that residents in Portugal are more cautious about the consumption of essential goods – food, housing and health – and this behaviour is more prudent than that indicated in most countries.<\/p>\n
For the study, 9,017 interviews were conducted with adults residing in twelve countries \u2013 France, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, Romania, the United Kingdom, the United States, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Vietnam, and Austria \u2013 between July 10 and 16, 2025. In Portugal, 501 interviews were conducted.<\/p>\n
