A canny conversion by Powell Tuck Associates transformed this former warehouse into a 5,800sqft modern home while preserving its original proportions, industrial bones and raw material. Called Pember House, it sits on a quiet street in Kensal Rise, northwest London, opening up from a sheltered courtyard into expansive, double-height rooms, each defined by light, structure and space.<\/p>\n

A tall Crittall entrance anchors the minimalist facade and leads into the ground floor, where spaces are arranged around an internal courtyard. Exposed steel, raw plaster and engineered oak establish the palette, while a stainless-steel kitchen forms the centre of the open plan. Two bedrooms face the courtyard, and a flexible east wing \u2014 complete with its own kitchen and en suite \u2014 can serve as a studio or self-contained apartment.<\/p>\n

A steel stair leads to the first-floor reception, where floor-to-ceiling windows draw in daylight and a gas fireplace brings warmth into the space. The principal suite lies beyond, with another large bedroom occupying the entire top floor and ushering through to a south-facing terrace. Pember House is listed for \u00a38.5m with The Modern House<\/a>.<\/p>\n
