OnePlus has a new smartwatch coming later this month, but new details suggest a major change from its previous watches. The OnePlus Watch Lite will offer more than a week of battery life and lots of sports modes, but may run a different operating system.<\/p>\n

OnePlus has a launch event on December 17<\/a>, during which it plans to announce a handful of products. Among the upcoming devices is the OnePlus Watch Lite<\/a>, a new smartwatch that is expected to be more affordable than its recent offerings. More details of the wearable have surfaced, revealing a major departure from OnePlus’s previous smartwatches. <\/p>\n

According to details shared by OnePlus, the OnePlus Watch Lite will feature a slim and lightweight design, measuring 8.9 mm in thickness and weighing just 35 grams. Its stainless steel case will house a 1.46-inch AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits in sports mode and a much lower 600 nits of brightness in everyday mode.<\/p>\n

OnePlus has also revealed that the OnePlus Watch Lite will have support for heart rate tracking, blood oxygen level monitoring, and sleep tracking. It will also have NFC, dual-frequency GPS, and compatibility with Android and iOS devices. <\/p>\n

In terms of battery life, the OnePlus Watch Lite will deliver up to 10 days of use on a single charge. While it is impressive, it most likely means the OnePlus Watch Lite isn’t running WearOS, as no smartwatch powered by the operating system can boast that sort of battery life. The OnePlus Watch 3<\/a> (curr. available on Amazon for $249.99<\/a>), which has one of the best battery life for a WearOS smartwatch, can only boast 5 days of use in smart usage mode.<\/p>\n

With the lack of WearOS, the OnePlus Watch Lite sounds like a successor to the poorly received OnePlus Watch<\/a>. Nevertheless, when the OnePlus Watch Lite arrives, it will be available in Silver and Phantom Black.<\/p>\n
