We\u2019re gearing up for the ITV<\/a> soap event of the century, and it\u2019s safe to say that it will change the future of both Emmerdale<\/a> and Coronation Street<\/a> forever.<\/p>\n Of course, we\u2019re talking about Corriedale \u2013 the epic crossover episode<\/a> that will see the two universes collide for the first time ever.<\/p>\n The special event is set to kick off brand new schedules on the channel, with 30-minute weeknight episodes of each soap creating what bosses are calling a soap power hour<\/a>.<\/p>\n Earlier this week, we were treated to a dramatic trailer full of teases<\/a> for what is to come.<\/p>\n The production teams<\/a> of both soaps have worked together on an enormous stunt, which will see a multi-vehicle pile-up leave lives in danger.<\/p>\n As fire spreads between the cars on the dark country road just outside Hotten, so does panic among the Weatherfield and Emmerdale residents.<\/p>\n \t\t Following the one-off event, the characters are set to return to their homes on the cobbles and in the Dales, but the events of Corriedale won\u2019t just be forgotten.<\/p>\n \u2018The producers, scriptwriters and production teams have conceived an They also said that the events of the episode will have \u2018everlasting consequences\u2019.<\/p>\n \u2018The episode will be self-contained, but the consequences of the high-stakes drama will have repercussions for both communities and see them linked forever as familiar faces depart and exciting new characters arrive into both soaps.\u2019<\/p>\n The excitement for the episode has been building for months, but it\u2019s only been in the last few weeks that we\u2019ve slowly been fed details on what to expect.<\/p>\n To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web We now know of several characters who are set to appear<\/a> in the episode.<\/p>\n From Coronation Street, DS Lisa Swain<\/a> (Vicky Myers<\/a>) was the first to be announced as a major player in Corriedale.<\/p>\n \u2018To be involved in this unique, bold, innovative, not to mention history-making episode, in Coronation Street\u2019s 65th year, (well, when we are filming it at least), is fantastic,\u2019 Vicky previously said<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u2018When I read the script and found out how two worlds collide, who is involved and how the characters interact, not to mention the impact the events of the night will have\u2026 Wow. It\u2019s going to be unmissable.<\/p>\n \u2018I couldn\u2019t wait to get started actually. This has been in the pipeline for quite some time and the talented team behind the scenes at Coronation Street and Emmerdale, has worked tirelessly to make this happen.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018They\u2019re incredible. I\u2019m really looking forward to meeting, and working with, people I haven\u2019t met or worked with before, both in front of and behind the camera. It\u2019s incredibly exciting and the camaraderie is great. It\u2019s going to be epic.\u2019<\/p>\n It has also been confirmed that Tracy Barlow<\/a> (Kate Ford<\/a>) and David Platt<\/a> (Jack P Shepherd<\/a>) will be involved in the dramatic episode.<\/p>\n From Emmerdale, the first character revealed to be involved was Aaron Dingle<\/a> (Danny Miller<\/a>).<\/p>\n \u2018I am made up that Aaron is in the Corriedale episode,\u2019 Danny said. \u2018Originally from Manchester, Coronation Street has always been an iconic show in our house just as much as Emmerdale.<\/p>\n \u2018So to cross them both over is a great idea. The night shoots have been full on with having young kids but a lot of fun and it\u2019s been great working with the Corrie team.<\/p>\n \u2018I can\u2019t wait to see how the episode plays out with the separate storylines from both Emmerdale and Corrie.
