New Look is set to close yet another store in the UK<\/a>. The clothing retailer has already shut the doors to 11 branches this year as part of a major shake-up.<\/p>\n

The latest New Look<\/a> store to close is located within the Howard Centre in Welwyn Garden City. According to Google, the shop is “temporarily closed” and shoppers have since voiced their sadness. One person said: “The town centre<\/a> is now a ghost town,” with a second adding: “Feel for those losing their jobs.” As reported by\u00a0Birmingham Live<\/a>, a third wrote: “I\u2019m surprised it\u2019s lasted this long since everything else has shut down\u2026\u2026. what will become of the town?” A fourth put: “Most of London high streets are either takeaways restaurants or charity shops<\/a>\u00a0or Thai massage parlours.<\/p>\n

“The generation of younger people can\u2019t afford a house don\u2019t get to cook and don\u2019t go out – so the pubs are shutting. Everyone buys everything online including me! It\u2019s cheaper.”<\/p>\n

The news come after reports of further closures across the New Look network. However, a spokesperson for the retailer said: “We do not comment on rumour and speculation.<\/p>\n

“Management are focused on running the company and executing the strategy for long-term growth. The company is trading well and has supportive shareholders.”<\/p>\n

A total of 26 stores were shut<\/a> in the Republic of Ireland in February. The company said: “New Look\u2019s Irish operation has struggled for some years, impacted by a range of factors including supply-chain and in-market costs, and squeezed consumer spending.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"New Look is set to close yet another store in the UK.
