Fans have reacted to Spotify<\/a> Wrapped\u2019s new feature displaying a user\u2019s \u201clistening age\u201d.<\/p>\n

The streaming service\u2019s annual report has officially launched<\/a>, where listeners can check statistics like their top albums, songs and artists of the year.<\/p>\n

This year, Spotify has included a brand new feature called a \u201clistening age\u201d, which compares \u201cyour musical tastes to others\u2019 in your age group, looking at the release years of the tracks you listen to most\u201d.<\/p>\n

Now, fans have reacted to the new feature, expressing outrage and shock at their bizarrely high listening ages \u2013 with stars like 26-year-old Laufey<\/a> posting about her listening age of 85.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy listening age is 68 i am unc\u201d, one user bemoaned, while another wrote: \u201cMy parents have a younger listening age than me HELP\u201d. \u201cListening age is just a number\u201d, one person consoled themselves. See a range of other reactions below:<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Spotify Wrapped has several new features, including six clubs that \u201crepresent a unique listening style\u201d and a Listening Archive, which details your \u201cmost memorable streaming days\u201d using AI-powered personalised snapshots.<\/p>\n

Bad Bunny<\/a> reigns supreme as Spotify\u2019s top artist for the fourth time. He nabbed the top spot in 2020, 2021 and 2022 previously \u2013 and this year, he netted more than 19.8billion streams worldwide in 2025.<\/p>\n

Lady Gaga<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Bruno Mars<\/a>\u2019 \u2018Die With A Smile\u2019 was the top song of the year with more than 1.7billion streams.<\/p>\n

In the UK,\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/a> has once again taken the top spot again as the most streamed artist, Alex Warren<\/a>\u2019s \u2018Ordinary\u2019 is the UK\u2019s most streamed song, and Sabrina Carpenter<\/a>\u2019s \u2018Short n\u2019 Sweet<\/a>\u2018 was crowned the most-streamed album in the UK this year.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Spotify landed in hot water this year due to owner Daniel Ek\u2019s investments in a military drone and AI company. A wave of artists including Massive Attack<\/a> have boycotted the platform, with the trip-hop band vowing that their new material shall never be released on it<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe economic burden that has long been placed on artists is now compounded by a moral & ethical burden, whereby the hard-earned money of fans & the creative endeavours of musicians ultimately funds lethal, dystopian technologies,\u201d they explained in a lengthy statement.<\/p>\n
