As Smith sees it, the demands of day-night cricket make adaptability all the more important.<\/p>\n
“[With the] pink ball, anything’s possible,” Smith said.<\/p>\n
“We’ve been pretty open in the past about having two nightwatchmen and things like that.<\/p>\n
“It’s a completely different game, you’ve got to play what’s in front of you at any given stage.”<\/p>\n
England, in a way, will take the opposite approach into the Gabba as they hope to level the Ashes.<\/p>\n

“I have got complete trust in the players we select to go out there with the mentality of being that person who is going to influence the game the right way for us.<\/p>\n
“Sometimes it doesn’t work out that way, but you’ve heard from a couple of us that we addressed last week and assessed certain moments in that game and definitely take some lessons.<\/p>\n
“It is a chance for us this week to do what we want to do and win the Ashes.”<\/p>\n
