EastEnders<\/a> actress Rita Simons<\/a> recently caught up with friend and former co-star Samantha Womack<\/a>, prompting them to reflect on their time as soap sisters Roxy<\/a> and Ronnie Mitchell<\/a>.<\/p>\n Rita and Samantha left the BBC One<\/a> show in 2017. Their characters Roxy and Ronnie both died on New Year\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n Roxy suffered a heart attack<\/a> from a drug overdose in a swimming pool, promoting Ronnie to jump in to try and rescue her. Ronnie got caught and weighed down by her wedding dress, and drowned as well.<\/p>\n The death of these two siblings left audience members distraught. Even though it\u2019s been 8 years since Ronnie and Roxy\u2019s final scenes, fans still discuss the heartbreaking moment, and often argue that they should be brought back from the dead<\/a>.<\/p>\n Because if Cindy Beale<\/a> can do it, surely these two can as well?!<\/p>\n Rita, who is 48, shared a screenshot of her video call with Samantha on her Instagram this week. Both currently in the middle of Panto rehearsals, she captioned the post: \u2018Tech rehearsals this is what we do on our breaks. @samzjanus We need to play the ugly sisters together?! #r&r#\u2019.<\/p>\n And of course, fans were very much here for Rita\u2019s latest post. In the comments section, the underlying theme of the messages were audience members discussing how much they\u2019d like to see Ronnie and Roxy again.<\/p>\n \u2018Just come back to EE already the both of you and us viewers will just forget how yous left\u2019, one follower said.<\/p>\n Another wrote in agreement: \u2018Still the worst every mistake in the history of mistakes was to kill RnR off. Can\u2019t we have a dallas moment when one of you walk out of the shower and the last 8 years have all been a dream\u2019.<\/p>\n \t\t Adding to the fans wanting the sisters to return, despite being killed off, this Instagram user noted: \u2018Ok so when is Ron and Rox coming back from the dead?\u2019.<\/p>\n Rita recently\u00a0departed her second soap role<\/a>, leaving Hollyoaks behind after two years<\/a> playing troubled Marie Fielding during its 30th anniversary celebrations and moving to\u00a0Brookside<\/a>\u00a0close alongside her son, Arlo (Dan Hough).<\/p>\n Elsewhere, Samantha previously spoke<\/a>\u00a0on her joy that fans are still yearning for Ronnie and Roxy to return.<\/p>\n EastEnders super fan and podcast host,\u00a0Amy Hart, while interviewing Samantha asked: \u2018Is it flattering that everyone is willing to let the plot go to the side? We\u2019ve seen Ronnie in her coffin, but they\u2019re willing to let that go?\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018I am [flattered]\u2019 Samantha responded.<\/p>\n \u2018I\u2019m always amazed \u2013 I still get stopped probably about eight, nine times a day when I\u2019m here in the UK \u2013 not just with someone like grabbing me, you know, just like, \u2018Ronnie!\u2019 \u2013 there was a guy on the South Bank yesterday, he was on one of those Lime bikes, and he\u2019s screeched to a stop.\u2019<\/p>\n \u2018He had his earphones in, and he\u2019s like, \u2018oh, my God, Ronnie. I can\u2019t believe it, you\u2019re my favourite character ever. Oh man, they\u2019ve got to bring you back, they\u2019ve got to.\u2019<\/p>\n \u2018And he\u2019s got have been like 19, 20. I was like, \u2018Hey, when were you watching it?
