The club are eyeing replacements for Kevin Thelwell after his time at Ibrox was abruptly cut short\"RealReal Betis sporting director Manu Fajardo<\/p>\n

Rangers have reportedly contacted Real Betis sporting director Manu Fajardo over the vacant post at Ibrox. It comes as the club moving forward with their January transfer plans to bolster Danny Rohl<\/a>‘s ranks.<\/p>\n

Rohl has been left to pick up the pieces of a disastrous campaign for the Glasgow giants following the American takeover in the summer. US tycoon Andrew Cavenagh<\/a> and the 49ers took control at Rangers and oversaw the ill-fated appointment of Russell Martin<\/a> and a poor summer recruitment drive.<\/p>\n

Sporting director Kevin Thelwell and CEO Patrick Stewart<\/a> were axed in the wake of the dismal season with the club now searching for replacements in the key roles. According to RadioMarca<\/a>, the Glasgow giants have “contacted” 40-year-old Fajardo over replacing Thelwell.<\/p>\n

The 40-year-old stepped into the post in 2024 and has built an impressive reputation with Betis. Despite limited funds for the Seville club, additions likes of Anthony, Diego Llorente, Giovani Lo Celso and Alvaro Valles have allowed Manuel Pellegrini to steer the club to the upper reaches of La Liga.<\/p>\n

Last season the club finished sixth and reached the Conference League last 16, and this term the club are pushing for the Champions League spots in Spain – currently sitting in fifth. The report notes that Rangers may have a tough test convincing Fajardo to move to Glasgow.<\/p>\n

He is said to be “happy” at the club and is already putting plans in place for the January window. It is noted that a club in Italy is also tracking the availability of Fajardo.<\/p>\n

Despite the continued search, Rangers are moving forward with their winter transfer plans. Reports suggest they are tracking Tromso midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl as the club eye Rohl’s first signing.<\/p>\n

The Rangers Review <\/a>report that Hjerto-Dahl “is a player of interest to the Ibrox recruitment team” having impressed for both club and country in recent months.<\/p>\n

The Norwegian U21 international was previously on Sheffield United and Sunderland’s agenda in the summer. Tromso are said to be holding out for a fee in the region of \u00a33.5million amid rising interest in the 20-year-old talent.<\/p>\n
