Here are 10 others loaded with these protective substances.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_6-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> Elderberries require cooking before eating, but you\u2019ll be happy you took the extra step. These berries are <a class=\"recommendation-inline-link-ai\" href=\"https:\/\/www.health.com\/nutrition\/what-are-antioxidants\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">chock full of antioxidants<\/a>\u2014particularly anthocyanins, which, as with pomegranates, give these berries their deep color. Elderberries also contain flavonols and phenolic acids.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_9-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> Artichokes are antioxidant superstars, boasting 12.6 milligrams of vitamin C per cup along with phenolic compounds such as cynarin and chlorogenic acid. They also offer a solid amount of protein compared to other vegetables, at 3.5 grams per serving.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_12-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> Blackberries are rich in antioxidant compounds, including vitamin C, vitamin E, anthocyanins, ellagic acid, quercetin, and terpenoids.
