The hilarious period drama spoof has finally been given a UK release date<\/p>\n

Comedian and Last One Laughing host Jimmy Carr<\/a>‘s period drama <\/a>spoof, Fackham Hall, received global attention after the side-splitting trailer dropped.<\/p>\n

The star-studded film, which features Harry Potter legend Tom Felton and Wolf Hall star Damian Lewis, is set in 1930s England.<\/p>\n

The parody film was released in the US <\/a>by Bleecker Street on December 5 and fans in the UK were desperate to know when it would air locally.<\/p>\n

Now, the movie starring Thomasin McKenzie, Ben Radcliffe, Katherine Waterston, Emma Laird, Tom Goodman-Hill, Anna Maxwell Martin, Sue Johnston and more, has finally been given a UK release date.<\/p>\n

Here is all you need to know about how to watch the parody, which was written by Jimmy Carr in his screenwriting feature debut.<\/p>\n

The film is being released in the UK by Entertainment Film Distributors on December 12.<\/p>\n

While it will not be available to stream online, the film is being screened in a number of cinemas, including Odeon, Everyman and Picture House.<\/p>\n

The Guardian gave the film three stars, saying: “It\u2019s all in light-hearted fun, though that itself has limitations.<\/p>\n

“The dialled-up silliness of a spoof can wear quickly, and the mileage on this particular variety runs out somewhere between sketch and feature.<\/p>\n

“At a certain point, you might wish to return to the world of (very slight) reason. But you have to respect a sincere commitment to the artform \u2013 if we\u2019re going to amuse ourselves to death, might as well laugh at it.”<\/p>\n

The film has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 86 per cent, with fans hailing it “stupidly hilarious”.<\/p>\n

Russ said: “I loved it! An instant classic campy farce film!” While Joseph G commented: “Hilarious from start to finish.”<\/p>\n

Ben Radcliffe, who plays Eric Noone in the film, spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the resurgence of British comedy.<\/p>\n

He said: “There is a resurgence of this kind of comedy, which I know people love. It\u2019s stupid and silly, but it\u2019s also genius. It\u2019s my style. I love it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Explaining Carr’s inspiration, he added: “I think it was an idea that [Carr] had during COVID that he wanted to do a spoof of Downton Abbey.<\/p>\n

“He had loads of ideas and this was the one that actually came to fruition and got made. But it was cool for me, because I have always been a fan of Jimmy Carr.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019ve watched all his specials and I watch his YouTube clips all the time. So to work with him, I was very excited. But he\u2019s actually in the film as well, he\u2019s not just behind the scenes. He\u2019s got a very funny role as the vicar.”<\/p>\n
