It\u2019s a classic example of a star using his popularity to avoid a risky mandatory challenger that they\u2019re not sure of defeating.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen, after you beat him, \u201cHe got three losses. He works at McDonald\u2019s. That\u2019s the guy who gives me my Big Mac and fries.\u201d Y\u2019all getting out of hand,\u201d said Shakur Stevenson on <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ShakurStevenson\/status\/1998071096701059436\" rel=\"nofollow\">X<\/a>, devaluing his new WBC mandatory O\u2019Shaquie Foster.<\/p>\n<p>Stevenson is failing to mention that Foster\u2019s victory over Stephen Fulton last Saturday night is a better win than any that he\u2019s achieved since moving up to the lightweight division in 2023\u2014none of Shakur\u2019s wins at 135 match O\u2019Shaquie\u2019s masterclass victory over Fulton.<\/p>\n<p>Shakur\u2019s Lightweight R\u00e9sum\u00e9<\/p>\n<p>William Zepeda<br \/>\nJosh Padley<br \/>\nArtem Harutyunyan<br \/>\nEdwin De Los Santos<br \/>\nShuichiro Yoshino<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Foster] can\u2019t do 10k in his hometown. Wtf, I look like fighting him? And for how much am I making on that easy work? Big fights only for me and my career here on out. I carried too many fighters on my back my whole career. Now shut up and be grateful for me making this Teo fight happen,\u201d said Stevenson.<\/p>\n<p>What Shakur is saying here is that Foster isn\u2019t a ticket-seller, can\u2019t bring in the gate revenue, meaning he\u2019s unworthy to fight. That attitude doesn\u2019t sit well with Stevenson, who recently fought an electrician, Josh Padley.<\/p>\n<p>The only somewhat popular fighter Shakur has fought at lightweight is William Zepeda, who\u2019s known only to hardcore boxing fans. He hasn\u2019t fought anyone remotely mainstream at 135.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShout to Teo for accepting this fight, now let\u2019s focus up.
